Management Team

Chairman, President & CEO

Mr. Chow is founder, Chairman, President and CEO of CGS Asset Management.  He is a registered Portfolio Manager and a Professional Engineer with 30 years of energy experience, including 20 years in the oil and gas industry and 10 years as a portfolio manager.  He has successfully managed and consolidated a number of investment funds and currently overseas an energy mutual fund as well as a number of flow through and private equity funds.

 

Mr. Brussa brings nearly 30 years of tax law, acquisition and divestiture and broad corporate experience to the Board of Directors of CGS’s funds.  Mr. Brussa is a Senior Partner of Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP, a Calgary-based law firm, specializing in taxation and Bloomberg’s #1 ranking in Canadian Legal Adviser League.

 

Senior Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer

Ms. Luttyck is the Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of CGS Asset Management.  She brings over 20 years of financial, accounting and regulatory experience in the oil and gas sector to her role at CGS, where she also serves as a Corporate Director. 

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Nagamatsu is the Chief Financial Officer of CGS Resource Fund Ltd. Miles is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of financial experience, in the areas of accounting, finance, management, lending, restructurings and turnarounds. Since 1993, Miles has acted as part-time Chief Financial Officer of public and private companies primarily in the mineral exploration and investment management sectors. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Northfield Metals Inc., Eloro Resources Ltd., Champion Minerals Inc., PC Gold Inc., Essex Oil Ltd. and Juno Special Situations Corporation. From 2004 to 2007, Miles was Chief Financial Officer of Lawrence Asset Management Inc. and its managed investment funds with $800 million under management.

Vice President

Ms. Miller is Vice President of CGS Asset Management.  She has a broad range of experience in capital markets, where she has worked for the past 9 years.  Ms. Miller has held roles in institutional equity sales, equity research and transaction services.  Primarily focused in the energy sector, Ms. Miller has worked for energy boutiques such as Tristone Capital (acquired by Macquarie Group in 2009) and FirstEnergy in oil and gas equity research and, most recently, for Mackie Research Capital as an Institutional Salesperson. 

Research Analyst & Associate Portfolio Manager

Mr. Chow is a research analyst and associate portfolio manager at CGS Asset Management, where he plays a key role in the investment management of CGS’ investment portfolios. He has been with CGS since 2007 and was previously a Research Associate at Lawrence Asset Management.

Controller

Ms. Wong is the Controller of CGS Asset Management. She has over 10 years of experience in accounting and economic research. She has been with CGS since 2009.  Prior relevant experience includes time at HSBC, where from 1999 to 2005, she worked at HSBC - Treasury and Capital Markets (Hong Kong) as a Research Associate with a focus on Asian Economics.

Mr. Peterson is an Advisor to AGS Energy Fund, L.P.; AGS Energy Fund (Parallel), L.P.; AGS Energy Fund II, L.P.; AGS Energy Fund II (P1), L.P. and AGS Energy Fund II (P2), L.P.   He is a retired Chairman, President and CEO of Imperial Oil Ltd and was, until recently, on the Board of Directors of the Royal Bank of Canada.  Mr. Peterson has held and continues to hold a number of board seats in the Canadian energy space.

 

Mr. Swartout is an Advisor to AGS Energy Fund, L.P.; AGS Energy Fund (Parallel), L.P.; AGS Energy Fund II, L.P.; AGS Energy Fund II (P1), L.P.; AGS Energy Fund II (P2), L.P.  Mr. Swartout has over 30 years of experience in the Canadian oil and gas sector and is the former Founder, President and CEO of Precision Drilling Corp.  Mr. Swartout has been involved in many successful oil and gas companies, including serving as a director of Saxon Oil Company (Chairman & CEO), Ammonite Energy Ltd, Arcan Resources Ltd, Harvest Energy Trust, Cequence Energy Ltd and North West Upgrading Inc., to name a few.
