Our objective is to achieve significant long-term capital appreciation with lower volatility than the market in the private equity and mutual funds and to enhance after-tax returns for our family of flow-through funds through a diverse portfolio of investments primarily in Canadian junior energy and energy services companies.

- Invests mainly in companies known to CGS, looking for management teams with entrepreneurial spirit, a unique combination of technical skills and business savvy, proven track records and whose interests are aligned with the shareholders.
- Examines the cost effectiveness, capital structure and growth potential of investee companies and ensure that the management skill set works well with the company's underlying assets.
- Looks for under-valued companies that are not well known but that have strong technical teams and possess a portfolio of under-developed asset.
- Will manage assets according the cyclical nature of the oil and gas business, with a focus on multiple expansions, relative valuation, the relative attractiveness of oil vs. natural gas, and capital flows between small and large cap companies.
